An Engagement Story Of A Singer And A Director

An Engagement Story Of A Singer And A Director

Veena is a Chennai based voice over artist and singer who has dubbed for over 100 films and for heroines in Tamil and Telugu including Trisha, Dhanshika, Anushka, Samantha and various others. She is the grand-daughter of Late singer and composer, Ghantasala. Let’s hear it from her as she excitedly talks to us about her love cum arranged wedding story.

Ravi Kanth, who lives in Vizag and now who has moved to Hyderabad is the director of the Telugu film “Kshanam”. I met him when I was dubbing for the film and a little thing sparked between us. Followed by an engagement between the two of us and now, yes we’re officially getting married.

The decorations for our wedding were done by @redthread-eventz#. The reason as to why I chose them is they are so easy to work with. Jennifer is very much dedicated to the work she does and is very promising. She sent a sample picture of what she is about to do on my engagement day and trust me that is exactly what I saw.  Besides being an amazing team to work with, they are economically friendly as well.

The pink blouse that I wore was made by my family friend Shanthi who owns a little boutique and operates from Valluvar Kottam, Chennai. The green blouse was custom-made for me by @sruthi-kannath#. Her designs are one of a kind and her works are pretty unusual and never cliché.

My sarees were from @kumaran-silks# and @tulsi-silks-1#. My mother being a loyal customer of Kumaran through ages suggested that we go there and get stuff done. With Tulsi, they have unique pieces and the combination of colours and designs are very different and lovely.

It was @vijay-eesam-photography#, a very good friend of mine who captured moments from behind the camera. He happens to be one of the leading photographers in Chennai and I do not repent for having chosen him.

As I am very fond of Gopi’s hairdo, I chose his as the vendor for my hair and makeup. Him, along with his team rendered an amazing job and I loved how I looked that day. And, my Mehendhi was done by one of my relatives.

There was no difficulty with regards to the pre-engagement preps. With ample time to decide and plan on everything, along with the co-operation from all vendors who were on time, the whole event turned out to be a very memorable one.

One of the most cutest moments that I would treasure for life is when Ravikanth had to put the ring on my finger on our engagement day, he paused and for about 15 to 20 minutes he kept asking whether I was sure about this.

Since I have a very fair complexion, I avoided doing anything to my face and kept it as it is, having its natural glow.
