From Friends To Forever! The Engagement Story Of Janani And Harish

Every now and then, we get this write-up which needs absolutely no tweaking. The words and the story are so pure, so sweet and so heart felt, it not only touches you, it consumes you. Such is the Engagement Story of Janani. In her words, here is Janani Senthil, telling us her love story which has now culminated into a beautiful Engagement.

I am Janani, the bride, I am a fashion designer and I have my own fashion studio in Chennai, born and brought up in this city. My fiance, Harish also from Chennai is an entrepreneur who is into constructions and also a hotelier. Our engagement happened on the 10th of July 2016. We are planning to have a traditional Hindu, Telugu-Tamil wedding in the month of February 2017, we are planning a Sangeet, Mehendi, Reception and Wedding ceremony in Chennai.

We met each other 12 years back, we were both in our 9th grade. He was a timid, cute guy and I was an extrovert. Our love story is the flipside of Bollywood movies where the guy teases the girl and they both fall in love eventually. In my story, I was the first one to ask him out, as I knew we both can never take the chance of losing each other ever, across time or space.

Our high school graduation took us to different paths, he went on to do engineering and I started pursuing fashion technology but the beautiful city and our ever blooming friendship kept us intact. Though we always knew we were more than friends, we started seeing each other only after 2009. It all started during a breezy evening drive across the east coast road in Chennai, where we both stopped to enjoy the sunset.

After a brief moment of silence, he asked if it was okay to hold my hands to which I gave both my hands and gently kissed his cheeks. It was that moment we both realised that we are meant to hold our hands forever as man and woman. Since then it's been a beautiful relationship, from silent downs to vibrant ups, from silly fights to countless makeups, from annoying friends to lovely couple, we have seen it all.

Today, when I turn back, I realise we both have come a long way and it gives me immense happiness to know I am going to grow old with the person of my dreams with blessings of both our families.
