This Beautiful Dreamy Telugu Beach Wedding Is Giving Us Major Goals

When we first looked at Sahithi’s and Rudra’s wedding photos, we knew we wanted to feature this king-size wedding! And that’s how we got in touch with the beautiful Sahithi and here’s what she had to say about her love story!

“Rudra and I met during our second year of under-graduation. He tried to get in touch with me through a mutual friend of ours and it kind of worked. He took me out for a dinner date and later on a long drive, where we talked our hearts out. He finally expressed his love to me on Christmas night. This was 6 years before the wedding!

We always wanted a destination wedding. We chose Goa since we had dreamt of a beach wedding and it was the ideal destination. We did visit a couple of beach destinations and finally chose The Novotel Dona Sylvia as our wedding venue. I’ve always wanted a very intimate wedding with the closest of the family and friends. And it was indeed the best decision!

@vijay-eesam-photography# and his team shot our entire wedding and the couple shoot. We wanted our couple shoot to blend in with the entire theme of the wedding. So, we decided to do it on the beach. Vijay and his team planned to cover the sunrise and the sunset shots for our shoot. They helped us prepare for the shoot, even picked the colour palette of the outfits for the shoot. Most importantly, they made sure we enjoyed the shoot! They were extremely patient and made sure we both were at ease during the shoot and the wedding events. They also ensured the family felt comfortable during the events and it was all visible in the final output! The photos came out like a dream!

We had our wedding planners, myshaadiwale from Bangalore. I, along with the team had decided on the themes for each event. We took a couple of months to finalize each theme. They patiently put up with me and the process of coming up with new ideas and changes in the decor every second day. I had a blast planning the wedding and to finally see the ideas executed exactly like we had envisioned it was otherworldly!

We had a rustic themed Sangeet. The bar was definitely my favourite. As for the Mehendi, we decided to go with a fusion theme. We drew inspiration from the Greek and bohemian theme, along with the addition of Rajasthani touch. So the entire colour palette was blue and white, dotted with bougainvillaea and a pop of bright orange. We also had a fun children-friendly game section and trampolines and as for the adults, we had planned beer pong, twister, giant drunk Jenga and tug of war. Apart from the games, the guests had a lot of fun in the rain dance!

For the Haldi, we kept it simple with special seating for the bride with a chandelier-like flower display in a variety of bright colours.

This was then followed by a gala dinner the night before the wedding. So we had a theme of all white colour outfits for the guests as well as the decor. Hence, we had all white cabana setting with white flowers and drapes that looked flowy and looked so beautiful in the beach setting.

And for the big day, I wanted a completely South Indian Telugu style mandap which was lotus themed. I chose a very simple mandap with open top since the wedding took place on the beach. I didn’t want to miss the view of the blue skies. We had the entire wedding venue filled with diyas, Ganesh idols and the chairs covered with jasmine flowers. The colour palette was dull gold and red which looked completely lit during the ceremony.

Now let’s get to our favourite part- CLOTHES!

Sangeet outfit- I had designed my outfit and the groom’s outfit as well.  My outfit was from Rupamani, a boutique in Jubilee hills, Hyderabad.

Mehendi- My best friend who just started out as a designer designed a beautiful outfit for me. All thanks to her, it was one of the best outfits at my wedding. It is from Ayra.

Groom’s outfit- He went for an olive green and red @shantanu-nikhil-hyderabadclothing# outfit.

Haldi outfit- We went for an all yellow theme for the guests while Rudra and I wore simple white outfits.

For the wedding, both my sarees were from Prakash Silks, Kanchipuram.

Groom’s outfit- Rudra had his outfits customized for him at Origins, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

The reception took place at Hyderabad with a guest list of around 2000 at Grand Fort and I wore Gaurav Gupta.

My makeup artist for all the wedding events was- @soh-touch-makeup-artistry-sohini#

For the Reception - Edward took care of my makeup and hair.

We have planned our honeymoon a month after our wedding.  Wanted to recover from all the chaos, tiredness.

So it was a 15 Day road trip we had in Europe. We flew down to Paris. Hired a car and travelled across Paris, Bruges (Belgium), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Lucerne and Interlaken (Switzerland).

Rudra and I are big suckers for road trips and hence, it was super fun!

Planning and organizing is the key to have a smooth and stress-free wedding. Just organize everything even if it looks super silly. Just pen each and every element down.

Also, do not rush into planning your honeymoon immediately after the wedding. Take a nice 20 to 30 days break. If you’re already tired with the wedding I’m sure you cannot enjoy your honeymoon.

So plan wisely and most importantly have fun!”
