A Telugu Wedding That Sends Out Waves Of Colour And Grandeur

A Telugu Wedding That Sends Out Waves Of Colour And Grandeur

What matters is a simple click with someone, and you fall for the person, even when least expected...! Similar is my story of how we found each other.

It was an arranged marriage setup wherein I was meeting this guy, and honestly, I was unsure at the moment whether he would be the one for me. Our first conversation was so natural. When we started talking and got to know each other, we realized we were so similar and indeed we were meant for each other. And then the magic happened in that one hour. The best part about him was he was very keen about my profession and that’s where I totally fell in love with him. So, the beauty of our marriage started when we said yes to our families and they decided that we can be soul-mates.

We then started texting, talking for long hours. And two days later was my birthday. That day he gave me the best gift ever. I can now say that it was the best birthday so far. And later he proposed to me way too romantically. It was then we had completely fallen for each other, and we formally got into a relationship. I was clear he would definitely keep me happy forever. And now we have a greatest love story of our life, a fairy tale come true.

Planning:

We got 2 months time before the engagement so we had quite good time to plan the event. We looked for best vendors from photography, make-up to designers. Pinterest and wedding magazines were my biggest saviors.

My family has played a major role in choosing all the vendors. My mom was keener than me about every tiny detail. She should definitely be given major credits for managing the whole event. Santosh(Groom) and his family had been supportive in making all the arrangements.

As I am a designer myself I was very particular about what I wanted especially in choosing my outfits. I got all my outfits customized. I choose the colors, materials & designed the motifs for my outfits. I got everything personally made by coordinating with the designers at every step of the production.

Coming to Jewelry I designed few and got some jewelry customized from family jeweler. I made sure that whatever I was purchasing for the wedding is multi-purpose so that I can were it in multiple ways in future.

Engagement:

MUA: Sunitha Caringula

Lehnga: @mugdhaartstudioclothing#

Saree: Trisa

Blouse: Eternal libas by Shilpa Waghray

We wanted to co-ordinate well with each others look. So for the first look we chose similar colored outfits and for the second look we chose contrast colors to complement each other. I designed both my lehnga and blouse for the saree.

As my father is part of Minerva group all the event organization, guest list and décor was taken care by our staff.

As the planning started, to manage so many things and lists was chaotic. I was tried to stay organized by making notes, plans, and to-do lists in each area so I have took off from my work to have some time to rest, relax, workout and gave myself a buffer.

Mehendi:

MUA: Sunitha Caringula

Lehnga: Rajsons

Jewelry: Barkat Atlier

Mehendi: Ramana mehendi artist

Venue: Hotel Minerva Grand, Banjara hills

My mehendi function went on very simple. It was a small affair amongst the family members. I chose a green-blue mirror work lehenga and coordinated it with gota-patti jewelry.

Sangeet:

MUA: Sunitha Caringula

Lehnga: @mebazclothing#

Choreographer & Event Organizer: Mayur & Kapil

Venue: The Cedar, Blue Fox, Banjara hills

Of all our wedding events, Sangeet was our favorite. From the start, we set the tone that our wedding should be fun, memorable, and a reflection of us as a couple. Choreographer and event organizers and their team worked tirelessly with us to create a one-of-a-kind event. And our guests had a blast throughout.

For this event, Santosh and I chose similar colors. I wore a peach gown with antique work and shimmered net which was perfect for that night.

Pellikuthuru:

MUA: Sunitha Caringula

Saree: @prakashsilksandsarees#, Kanchi

Blouse: Eternal libas by Shilpa Waghray

The Nalugu and Pellikuthuru ceremony took place at our residence. The decor was chosen by me and mom. We made sure it was colorful and compliments my attire. I wore antique jewelry and made the whole look traditional and authentic.

Wedding:

MUA: Sunitha Caringula

Saree: Rangoli,N.C.Santhanam- Kanchi

Blouse: Eternal libas by Shilpa Waghray

Décor: Mr.Gangaraju

Venue: Sandhya Convention Centre, Gachibowli

My favourite is the wedding blouse and Baju Band which I designed.

The first saree was golden saree which I picked from N.C.Santhanam and I designed the blouse with bride and groom embroidery made on the sleeves and the remaining blouse was done by picking up flower and animal motifs from the Saree. I wore Diamond jewelry along with this saree.

Make-up artist has to be complimented for her skillful work and how she managed to blend yellow patches of haldi on my face and also how efficiently she managed time for all the events.

The other saree for talambralu was picked From Rangoli and I matched this with temple & pachi jewelry. I kept the blouse sleeve plain to highlight the Baju band and got the remaining blouse colorfully embroidered. I have designed the baju band as a set which can be worn as a Vaddanam or a long Necklace or a choker or a Baju Band, this is my favourite piece amongst all my wedding jewelry. I have personally got each piece of my jewelry customized from hair accessories to earrings, necklaces etc. so that they can be worn in multiple ways.

Decor was planned well ahead. Mr.Ganagraju has done the décor. My mom and I coordinated with him got all the sketches done prior and chose theme and color combination, planned the bride and groom entry and almost we took care of every small details. We also arranged a kolatam and traditional orchestra simultaneously. I was very happy to see how beautiful the wedding turned out.

Reception:

MUA: Naturals

Lehnga: @mebazclothing#

Blouse: Eternal libas by Shilpa Waghray

Décor & Venue: Hotel Minerva Grand, Nellore.

My brother must be complimented for all the arrangements; He took care of the décor, live telecast, guest list & all the entertainment events throughout the reception.

I chose Dark green Lehenga with golden blouse and light green dupatta and carried the outfit with diamond jewelry. Our reception was also much fun with live music and we were happy to see our guests enjoying the whole event.
