A Bubbly Bride's Opulent Wedding Story

A Bubbly Bride's Opulent Wedding Story

Remember the engagement story of our bubbly bride? http://www.shopzters.com/engagement-diaries/the-beautiful-bubbly-bride-to-be-gets-engaged

She is back on Shopzters with her wedding story! That too a sumptuous one with 5 grand functions! Here is a little background for those who haven't read the engagement story.

Sharanya and Kriish met in an arranged marriage set up. They had no common friends or acquaintances. Kriish came down all the way from New Zealand to meet her and the rest is history. They realized they were meant to be together and the dates were decided. Sharanya tells her wedding story

Everything happened in the blink of an eye. Our wedding was fixed within one week of meeting. Special mention to the wedding invitations. We had over 8 types of wedding cards! Ashirvad cards Coimbatore and Priya Dharshini cards created them. The one I like the most is the wooden photo frame wedding invite that I custom designed. It serves as both an invitation and a return gift!

After the engagement we had the mehendi function. A colorful kite themed mehendi decor was set by Daksha events. For the event, I wore a mix and match outfit. My skirt was from @neerus-indiaclothing# Hyderabad. Mehendi was done by Sangeetha while @raguram-photography# took care of the photography. My mehendi session lasted 6 whole hours!

If you ask me what the most hectic part was, I'd say it was deciding the backdrop. I wanted something unique and not too gaudy. We zeroed down on a very subtle decor with coffee brown panels and jute decorations.

Now that the engagement and mehendi functions were done, let's get to the main event. My wedding which was held at Alleppey, Kerala! I bought my muhurtham saree was a contrast pattu one from @a-s-babu-sah#. We purchased jewelry for the wedding from @suman-jewellery# and @joy-allukas#.

My blouse was by Flair, Coimbatore. @steffhy-antony# took care of my make up and let me tell you i was fabulous! She did a wonderful job and I looked fresh as a daisy throughout the wedding. Wedding decoration was by Sreesilpam in Kerala and our florist was Akshaya, Coimbatore. Kriish wore a silk shirt and pattu veshti. It's all so simple for boys!

Sangeet is usually an event before the wedding. Mine was after! We wanted all my cousins to be in town and participate in the fun and dancing. The venue for sangeet was Dwaraka Inn and Daksha events did the decoration part of it. My dress was by @mokshaa#, Chennai. Ragu Ram took care of photography at the sangeet.

The wedding ceremony was an intimate one with both our families. But the reception was a grand event with a large number of people at the Codissia E Hall. Wedding decor was by Sreesilpam and Akshaya was our florist. We had a Musical concert by Abhijit  and team from Kerala.

The saree for my reception was a very special 24 carat gold saree from @varamahalakshmi-silks# Chennai while blouse was by Flair. My ornaments were from Prince Jewellers and my makeup was by @makeup-shabas#. Kriish wore a custom made suit from KIM. His shoes were from Doc & Mark, watch Rolex and he was his own stylist. I'd like to make a special mention of the catering by Madhampatty, Coimbatore. The food was amazing!

Shopzters helped me a lot with deciding the right vendors. Usual suggestions to soon to be brides include eating healthy and drinking a lot of water, but I have a few more suggestions than that. Weddings can be hectic for both the bride and groom, have something to eat before getting into the mandapam, you don't want to feel dizzy and tired while posing for photos and greeting your guests!

If you are sending some invites online or through whatsapp, you needn't hire a graphic designer. There are many applications such as Canva available where you can easily create and customize your wedding invitation.

For the brides, keep a spare blouse so you can wear it if your original wedding blouse ditches you. Another thing to remember is having a fan or cooler next to you on the stage. Professional camera lights generate a lot of heat and the last thing you want is to be sweaty in your kanchipuram saree!

Good luck! :)
