Palam Silks Opens 4th Branch in Chennai!
There are only a few states of the art Saree shopping experiences in Chennai! And one of the landmarks is Palam Silks, who launched their 4th branch in Chennai on Oliver Road, Mylapore. Palam Silks is also located at T Nagar, Luz Church Road and Anna Nagar 2nd Avenue.
Here is what Mrs. Jeyasree Ravi, the founder has to say, “We have deliberately designed each store differently to cater to customers who prefer diverse shopping experiences. Our T Nagar headquarters is inspired by "Chettinad cottage" interiors with wooden wardrobes and mustard walls. Our branch at Luz hosts private cabins promising a luxury shopping experience. Anna Nagar store carries counter-top display which is a traditional shopping experience and hangers covering 50% of the showroom who prefer self-service.
Our new store in Oliver Road is an out-an-out walk-in wardrobe inspired unit where we have demolished the gap between customers and our creations. All the sarees are easily accessible as they are set up on hangers. A customer can enjoy viewing each and every saree in hangers instead of a countertop display unit where the viewing is limited to the sales executive's selection of sarees. Customer can leisurely walk around the store and take the liberty to get up-close and personal with every saree in the showroom. The store and the designs were curated by Mrs. Jeyasree Ravi's daughter, Sunita Yogesh, the Senior Designer of Palam Silks.
This store can also be called a mini-mall since it houses 4 unique sections. One part is inspired by online browsing experience where the customer can swipe through every saree that we have designed. The 2nd section consists of a Bridal Cabin which is inspired by a Chettinad palace where we feature our premium bridal collection, NAVA which premiered at the Vogue Wedding Show in 2017 and 2018.
The 3rd section is a walk-in website where customer can browse through all the exclusive sarees featured on our website and app. This format is the first ever amalgamation in Indian Retail.
4th section carries cushion covers designed by Ms Jeyasree Ravi's daughter Sunita Yogesh who is also Palam's in-house kanjeevaram designer.
The store was invocatory lamp was lit by Doctor NalliKuppuswamyChettiar& Mrs Nalli, the lead designer – Jeyasree and Sunita Yogesh, the curator of the store. Poornima Bhagyaraj, RJ Sulabha, Airtel Super Singer fame Nithyashree and JigyasaGiri, Founder&Creative Director of DEVANIYA were some of the eminent personalities who were spotted.
“Kanjeevarams deserve a seat of honour among all other fabrics and this store is a dedication to the thought” says Poornima Bhagyaraj.
“So many times I have wished to stroll around a store and have the freedom to visually experience every saree and my dream actually came true”, says RJ Sulabha.
“I always like to differentiate all my stores in a little or big way since our customers always like Palam to keep up with the changing times. It is this thought that has kept us up and running. We openly embrace the fevering question that is posed to us every single day, “So what is new with Palam today”. I promise that our next branch will be several steps ahead of our imagination.
“I curated this store with Palam’s classic designs which are an amalgamation of unique and abstract designs with a tinge of tradition. We are in this space where we are comfortably nestled between Vogue and Vintage which is apt for a millennial woman who carries culture and style with grace. We name her “The Palam Woman” and this store is a Palam Woman’s dream”, says Sunita Yogesh, Curator of Palam Silks, Oliver Road.
