A Kongu Wedding With Decorations, Trousseau And Almost Everything Flavoursome
Sushmitha, one of our beautiful brides shared with us her lovely engagement story and now is the time to see what she did while she took her wedding vows with her prince charming and went from Miss to Mrs. Sushmitha. She is a B.Com graduate who married Raj Gowtham a business man in Coimbatore in September 2017. Let’s hear it from the bride who took us towards her marriage journey.
“We had three events on the whole. The Sangeeth, the muhurtham and the reception. For the Sangeeth I wore an Indo-western designer wear from Sanzkriti Boutique by Risha Sundriyal, Dehradun. Raj wore a jacket and kurta from @manyavar#, Chennai.
Makeup was by Blush, Coimbatore. Divya and Reena, the two women who helped me curate the looks for me on my Sangeeth day. They understood what I wanted and made that happen. They were easy to communicate with and are very friendly. They gave me a very subtle and light makeup.
We had a ritual called the ‘urumal kattu seeru’ which is very familiar in our kind. It is a turban ceremony where his mother’s mother does the ritual for the groom. Whereas, my mother’s mother does the rituals for me. We also had a ceremony where they presented me with gifts, the mettis and such. Followed by that we had quite a few rituals and I enjoyed every bit of it.
For my reception and muhurtham makeup was by @salon-manthra#, Salem. Since I went for a subtle makeover for the Sangeeth, I wanted to have a bold touch. They did a very good job with not making me too much caked up or anything. The makeup was on point.
Sarees for my reception and muhurtham were from @tulsi-silks-1#, Chennai. All my jewelry were either gold or diamond and they were purchased from @sumangali-jewellersshoppingretail# and @suman-jewellery#.
All my blouses were designed specially for me at Smrithi’s. Manju aunty has been with me since I made my first blouse. She has always made sure to surprise me with new designs and never repeats any design again. She also designed blouses for all my relatives and family members. Although mine was unique and exquisite.
Catering for all the events was by Nagaraj from Madhampatti. As usual his food spreads are awesome. Traditional food was the best and there wasn’t even one person who did not compliment the food. My personal favourite was the orange ice cream which was served in an orange peel. Also, my second favourite was the chocolate beeda.
Decorations for all events were by Utsav’s Décor. Mithilesh has been with us and planned everything according to our likes and dislikes. He conveyed our ideas to our families through prints and layouts and made the work easier for us. I must admit that he is most comfortable to work with.
Photography for all the events were by @siraj-khan-photography#. We loved every picture alike and are highly satisfied.
Since I had my exams right before my wedding, I did not have much time to take up any pre-wed spa or anything. All I did was keep myself hydrated with a lot of water and fruits. Although we’ve been to many short trips, our long honeymoon is set to be in December and we’re flying to the city of love, Paris.
