The Monsoon Wedding Of Two College Sweet Hearts Of 11 Years
Hi, This is Uma and I met my husband Praneeth in 2006 when we were studying Engineering in Bangalore. I am born and bought up in south Bangalore in typical Kannada family. Praneeth is from coastal town of Udupi. After much family drama (just like they show in movies, Brides mom not happy and is very traditional and against love marriage :P the cliche love stories) we finally got married in my most favorite city in world Bangalore and in the heart of south Bangalore "Basavanagudi" where I spent all my childhood.!!! Also I always had this dream about getting married in the monsoon season as I love the rains!!! Somehow universe conspired to make all my dreams come true.......
We have knew each other for 11 years before we tied the knot. Our wedding day was almost on 11th year of meeting the first time. We both we were in same class and even went together to California for our Masters together. We both met when we were 18 years old and spent more than a decade growing together.... Coming from a very conservative family, I knew love marriages were a taboo in my family and it was not going to be an easy way. I some how fell in love with this most amazing guy who was my best friend , my mentor , my partner and someone who is always working so hard to make all my dreams come true. He has stood by me through the worst years of my life and made my life so beautiful.
Funny= I remember telling my husband during our wedding, although we are new bride and groom to be, it feels like we are this old couple who know in and out of each other and are tying the knot after years of togetherness. Whole wedding was planned mainly by me and my husband. To make sure there was no friction between two families during wedding, we had these excel sheets that detailed hour by hour the screen play of wedding. Wht time bride is arriving, what time grrom is arriving, who gives what gifts to which family, The wedding was both kannada Lingayath and Konkani style so had to do a lot co-ordination. It felt like we were writing a screen play for our wedding.
We live in San Jose, California and arranging a wedding over the continent with 12 hours time difference itself was a task. Thanks to few friends and family members we were able to pull it off. We flew to india to check for venue and buy the bride attire. I was so specific about caterers and got the best in Bangalore for our catering food at our wedding.
I had this image of a golden yellow saree pure silk kanjeevaram silk saree which I wanted to wear for my wedding and was able to find one there and just fell in love with it. Their bridal collection of Angadi is special that these sarees designs are very unique and will not be replicated. I bought all my wedding sarees from Angadi. My Wedding day saree was pure silk, made of 100 percent silver threads and the color was gorgeous. For Brides looking ofr a classy saree with different color combinations and deisgn that wont be repeated, Angadi is the place!!!
@makeuup-by-kiinjal-mehta# is the best thing to happen to me!! I was looking ofr this perfect weddingmakeup artist and just couldnt find someone who tries different looks and has new styles for brides and is not repetitive with her nmakeup and hairstyle. Kinjal was such an amazing artist, she made me look just the way I wanted on my wedding day. Her makeup was so natural, classy, and she was so inclined to perfection when it came to tying the saree, hair etc etc. She truly made me look the most beautiful on my wedding day and really made this wedding dream come true!
VBJ - There is no match to their wedding jewellery collection!!! Just outstanding
Well what can I say about @minchu# studio!!! Shreyanka and Sujay were just tooo good. I had this idea to shoot the wedding couple photo shoot in the Basavanagudi street famous for its flower Vendors and the best place to eat dosa "Vidyarthi Bhavan". I have been visiting this tiny famous Dosa place since I can remember with my parents, and I wanted a photo shoot in a place where it held great memeories. The whole setting was typical south Indian and Minchu studio did an outstanding job for the photos and wedding video. Couldn't have asked for more!!!
RNM Catering Private Limited - The food was the best part of wedidng. In south Indian wedidng people plan a lot ofr food as they say "After many many years, guests who came to wedding will not remmeber the decor or wedding saree or makeup or anything else. What wiull remian in thier heart is food they ate which they will always cherish and remember" . We found the perfect caterer who made the best food, not even a single person in whole weddingcomplained about. Everyone was raving about their service and food and quality of food. I think they even got 3 to 4 wedding bookings from guests who had come to our wedding. I wish I could give them 5 Plus stars.
