The Wedding Story Which Began With Love At First Sight!
Love at first sight makes a beautiful love story. When that ends up in marriage, its makes an amazing wedding story! This is the case of our beautiful bride Vaishnavi and her beau Praveen. Read on, as the super excited- much in love bride narrates her fairytale!Every girl dreams for “The Man” of her life to be just like her Dad. And, yes!!!! I am fortunate, life has blessed me with a fairytale. (Touchwood!) I’m Vaishnavi Rajmohan and I’m here to share my exciting journey from holding his hand for the first time to being in his heart forever.
We first met 6 years ago, in the picturesque city of Mysore, when we both started our career at Infosys. I would say that, me being from Coimbatore and Praveen Allu being from Hyderabad, with no common background, were destined to meet in a crowd as big as 20000.
It was during one of our exams, he saw me for the first time and the moment was encased in his heart. He couldn’t take his eyes off me and the result of the exam was so obvious ;) He kept looking for me, but there was no luck for weeks. One fine evening, I entered his classroom, walking with one of his best friends, “It probably was the biggest surprise of my life” (Words by the Groom). Thus, began the journey of getting to know each other.
It did not take him long to go on his knees, and ask me to be ‘the ONE’ of his life. Our destiny had different plans as we moved to different places to build our careers. Fortunate to be blessed with wonderful parents, our wishes were granted.
Our 'Big Day' was decided to be 19 October 2015 and the wedding preparations began in May with the blessings of our family & friends. Since both of us hailed from different cultures, we wanted to ensure that every single ritual from both our traditions were followed. We began with, Uppu vangaradhu (Tamil style) and Pasuppu kotadam (Telugu style), followed by lagna patrika and shopping.
Our wedding celebrations spanned over a period of 5 days as follows, Day 1 - Pelli kooturu Pelli Koduku & Thaai Mama Seer, Day 2- Mehendi & Sangeeth, Day 3- Nalangu, Day 4- Wedding, Day 5- Reception & Vratham.
We decided Sri Sai Vivaha Mahal in Coimbatore to be the venue for our 'Big Day'. Mehendi and Sangeeth celebrations were hosted at Royal Palms, Coimbatore. The Secunderabad club, Hyderabad was chosen as the reception venue.
A pretty peach crop top and blue skirt with a shaded dupatta was designed for my sangeeth by @mrunalini-rao#. The colors were bold and lively. Praveen's Sangeeth outfit was a peach kurta complemented by a jacket crafted with fine golden lines and a motif, designed by Shravan Kummar of Shravan's Studio, Hyderabad.
The peacock blue saree worn by me, for my Nalangu captivated everyone's attention. Three of my gorgeous besties, wearing blue colored sarees to complement my drapery, was a treat to the eyes. Praveen wore a traditional silk dhoti and shirt to go with a turban designed by Shravan. It was fun to have his friends from Hyderabad dressed up in Tamil tradition to match his attire.
The grandeur of the gold saree with a mix of pink, lived up to the beauty of the wedding. I chose '@anya-where-tradition-meets-fashionclothing#', Coimbatore to design my blouses. Their designs were so elegant that I had no second thought. All of my wedding sarees were from Varamahalakshmi silks, Kancheepuram. Praveen's wedding attire was a majestic gold Sherwani designed again by Shravan. All his accessories were designed intricately by Shravan to go well with my golden drape.
For the reception, I wore a gorgeous pink lehenga from the Anushree Reddy collection, Hyderabad. It was the best of my choices. His reception suit was a TUX from Hugo Boss, bought in the US.
We put in a lot of effort in choosing the colors and coordinating them to every single detail. We went in with a gold theme decor for our Wedding which was magnificently done by Vijay of @jeevithadecorwedding-planning-event#, Coimbatore. He also did the Mehendi setup. Pradeep from Hyderabad lit up the reception venue with a wonderful decor
.Every single moment of our celebration was beautifully captured by Ranganath & team from @ranganath-photography#, Hyderabad. The clicks couldn't have been more stunning.
As some of our friends and relatives couldn't make it to our big day, the wedding was streamed live through vjlive.net, arranged by Kesavan of studio k-7, Coimbatore. The trendy jewelry designs of Tanishq embraced the wedding outfits. My hair and other accessories were designed elegantly by Sujatha, Coimbatore.
All the wedding accessories like floral umbrella, kobbari bondam, poola jada, navaratna talambralu, butta, garigamuntha and adduterra crafted splendidly by Kalpana from Pelli Poola Jada, befittingly enhanced our decor. We opted to have 3 different invitations. We chose a golden color invite for the Telugu version with a traditional touch, and was designed by Sunitha Graphics, Hyderabad. The Tamil invites had an alluring purple & gold theme to go with a satin finish which were designed by Lotus Designer Cards, Coimbatore. Our personal invitation was done by Mekala from Patrika, Coimbatore.
She did a wonderful job on designing the monopoly themed wedding card, that depicts our story. We brainstormed on the design, colors and the content, and after one complete month of effort from 3 of us, the outcome was amazing. We printed them in the form of a board game and added a pair of dice to the invitation set, to make it look like an actual monopoly game.
Yolanda Roberts from Yoli's Mademoiselle, Coimbatore did my makeup for Mehendi & Sangeeth. Nalangu and Wedding makeup was done by the bridal specialist @make-up-ibrahim# & Team (Vijay Raghavan & Anu), Chennai. Nalangu look was so graceful and was adored by everyone. Reception makeup was exquisitely done by Edward, Hyderabad. He also did an impeccable job with Praveen's hair. All the 3 teams did an awesome job, gave me the look that I had in my mind.
P&V logo was created by 'Lotus Cards', which we printed on our wedding cards and gift bags. Paper bags for return gifts & tamboolam were by 'Paper Trail' from Kerala. Return Gifts, Mehendi Pot and Trousseau packing were beautifully done by Sapna Koshy from 'The Golden Wrap'. Meeta Joshi from Coimbatore, artistically adorned my hands with Mehendi. Sangeeth props were by Seema from 'Untumble', which added fun to our celebrations.
Food was the biggest hit of our wedding. The catering was done by Madhampatty Ravi from '@sai-lakshmi#', well-known for their delicacies. We got appreciations for everything, right from the menu to the service, and even for the design of the water bottles ;)Though we were in the U.S., all our planning was executed properly because of our family. A special hug to my friend Sobhana who managed to take my stress, taking care of all of my requirements.
We traveled down just for 3 weeks, for our Wedding. It was one hectic month, but with all wonderful memories for a lifetime. A quick bridal tip: Believe me, if something goes wrong, only you will be knowing it. So relax and enjoy your 'Big Day'!!!
