Nivi a student in Medicine, our extremely gorgeous bride tells us how her groom’s love at first sight ended up being an arranged marriage
Our wedding just started off like a usual arranged marriage setup, but it turned out to be a beautiful love story. I don’t know where to start! Alright! Let me tell you about us first. I’m a med student and he is a pilot. Interesting combination, right? It all happened about a year ago when he saw my picture for the first time. His parents were looking for a bride, and that is when he came across my picture which was in the midst of all the other pictures. It was ‘that moment’ he decided that ‘I am his girl’. He fell in love the very instance.
He then tried to stalk me, and looked me up on all the social media sites. Unfortunately, nothing worked out. He waited for the right moment as a year passed away and finally found a mutual friend. Even then he couldn’t reach me. He cleverly got in touch with my cousin, who helped us a lot and made us talk. This is how our ‘journey of love’ started. We got engaged soon after that. We waited for 8 months to get married. I have to say that the courtship period is what turned this arranged marriage into a love marriage. It might sound too cliché, but still I have to say this - I truly feel the phrase “love is in the air” One thing our courtship period missed was the pre wedding shoot which is all a post wedding now.
Shopping for our wedding was one of our favorite parts. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed every moment with our cousins who supported us throughout. My sarees were from @varamahalakshmi-silks# Chennai. My lehenga for one of the two receptions was from @sabyasachi-hyderabad#, and for the other was a gown that I bought from @mokshaa#, Chennai. My reception jewelry was from Kirthilal Diamonds, and the muhurtham jewelry was from GRT jewelers, Chennai.
Mehendi was by Ajab from Coimbatore. Makeup artist for muhurtham was @vivaaha-bridal-makeover-studio# (Vivetha), and for the receptions in Chennai it was Meenal Momaya.
Catering was done by Sulur Logu, and wedding decor was by Balu Decors.Photography for our wedding was by @jeevan-photography# and for the reception in Chennai it was by @vipin#.
Our wedding shopping went on for months. We had too many options and kept confusing until the last minute to decide what I wanted to wear on my big day. We had a lot of fun amongst all the chaos, which is what really matters.
A special thanks to Shopzters for featuring our wedding story and helping us with our shopping. From your numerous options, you helped us choose the best people according to our taste which made our big day grand and memorable!
