It is every girl's dream to get married to her prince charming and have a fairy tale wedding. Well, the same goes with me. Though my future plans had marriage nowhere close, destiny chose to have it another way and my story starts already.
I'm Havishya Sunkara, from Bangalore. I have done my bachelors in architecture. I was in search of a good college to pursue my Masters degree when a marriage alliance had come up at home, right after I got my admission into a college. Hoping that it would pass by, I casually accepted to meet the groom and his family.
The day came when both our families met at a mutual friends house, the day my world turned upside down. I met this amazingly charming and fun person, Vamsi, from Hyderabad.
After about 2 meetings, we knew we were made for each other. We were in love with each other. I knew he was the perfect match - my prince charming.
In about 2 months we were engaged. It was a Grand event held at Taj Krishna Hyderabad in February 2015. Our wedding was scheduled for October. So we had 8 months time to plan our wedding.
In the meantime I was pursuing my Masters in Florence but I had been coming to India on a regular basis and took personal interest in planning my wedding.
These 8 months were the time we had gotten so close to each other, that everyone asked us if it was a love marriage.
We kick started our wedding celebrations with a grand Sangeeth, at Banyan Hyderabad. Both of us received big compliments on our colorful attires and accessories for the day. I wore a Lehenga which I had picked up from Anita Dongre store in New Delhi.
My makeup was done by Edward Siro who did a fabulous job. My jewelry was purchased from Jaipur and the neckpiece was from Kishandas, Hyderabad.
Vamsi wore a Manish Malhotra attire which he purchased from Delhi.
The decor was planned and designed by me and done by 999 Events India, a Rajasthani based peacock theme with the entire place lit beautifully.
The next event was Mehendi which took place in Fortune Murali Park, Vijayawada. It was a fun night as we went with a lot of fun stalls, Garbha and Dandiya. The concept was a Market Fair set-up. The decor was again done by 999 Events India with the entire hall decorated in beautiful yellow and orange marigolds. Stalls included - chats, bangle making, parrot jyotshyam, make-overs, mehendi etc.
For the Mehendi, I wore a Lehenga that was designed by @anushree-reddyclothing# which I had picked in Delhi. My makeup was done by Edward, hair-do by Highlight Studio (Hyderabad). Flower jewelry was done by Mr. Nagaraj from Coimbatore.
Then was the Pellikuturu function which was a small event at home. The decor was planned by me and done by Mr. Nagaraj, Coimbatore who did a uniquely fabulous job. My Saree was picked from Kanchi-Prakash and my blouse was done by Viny Reddy (Hyderabad).
Our wedding was held at A Convention center in Vijayawada. It was a grand event. The wedding decor was done so elegantly by Mr. Nagaraj.
We had 3 changes during the wedding as the Muhurtham was at 12:30 in the night, so we had a pre wedding reception from 7:00 pm.
I wore a Gaurang Shah purple Saree which paired with Vamsi's @sabyasachi-hyderabad# Sherwani.
I was brought to the venue in a palanquin beautifully decorated. It made me feel like a princess.
The Muhurtham and the Thalambralu sarees were picked up from Tulsi Silks, Chennai. They have some exquisite collection.
My jewelry was purchased from 2 stores - Kishandas and Tibarumals, Hyderabad. I was wearing a complete set of Diamond jewelry for the wedding.
All my blouses were done by Viny Reddy from Hyderabad. She did an amazing job. Be it right fittings or designs, simply superb!!
My Wedding makeup for all the three changes was done by Edward Siro from Hyderabad and hair-do was by Highlight Studio. They made me look gorgeous. Big thanks to them.
Our Reception was a grand event held at Hitex, Hyderabad. The decor was done up by Dinaz and planned by Vamsi. It was a surprise for me till the reception day. I was mesmerized by the beauty and intricacy of the decor. It was heavenly.
The reception also had a Russian orchestra playing beautiful melodies throughout the event.
I was wearing a jacket Lehenga from @sabyasachi-hyderabad# Store, New Delhi and Vamsi wore a suit.
My makeup was done by Edward and hair-do by Highlight Studio. My jewelry was bought from Tibarumals, Hyderabad. It consisted of rose cut diamonds and emeralds. It complemented my attire beautifully.
We had 3 photography teams shoot all our wedding festivities right from Day 1 and they did it so beautifully - @studio-a#, @pixel-army#, @suman-chakri-photography#. Huge Thanks to them.
We also had a pre-wedding shoot 2 months before our Wedding. We decided to have it in Kerala. The shoot was done by Studio A and they did an amazing job.
The shots on the house boat, shots with the traditional Kerala dancers, a few with the western wear with a vintage umbrella all it was done so professionally. A fairy tale shoot I would say. Big thanks to Amar and his team.
or our Honeymoon, we planned a trip to Sydney and Royal Davui islands in Fiji. It was very private and romantic. We had the best time of our lives. Truly a must go!!!
