A Childhood Crush That Flourished Into A Wedding Story
Vinu Deepiga had known Gowtham since the time they were children. They grew up and went different way not knowing that one day they would be married! Read on to know their story as told by Vinu Deepiga.
I’ve known Gowtham all my life. We are distantly related and so often went on family trips together. We were extremely fond of each other as kids. At some point of time we lost touch. Years later when I was doing my graduation, my family began looking for alliances.
His horoscope was the first we received and the first his family sent to any prospective bride. It matched! We were elated! Almost immediately the dates for our wedding was fixed. We had approximately six months to finish all the wedding shopping. That was enough time to plan our wedding.
From the moment I laid my eyes on him, I’ve been the happiest ever. We began shopping for the Urudhi Varthai function without much delay. I wanted my wedding to be unique. So we focussed on it being beautiful rather than grand. I wanted the theme to be fresh flowers. So that’s prrecisely what I chose as the backdrop for the main ceremony.
I wish to mention here that the wedding invitation was personally designed by me. I explained details of all the events in a typical Gounder wedding. Mekela Murali who owns Pathrika helped me a lot with making my wedding invitation very special.
For my wedding decoration and seer plates, we assigned Vermilion Tirupur and @happening-decors#, Erode. Ahalya aunty took special care of the decor as she is an expert in decorating with flowers. I want to thank Sindhu who although pregnant, helped me a lot through everything.
Catering was by Madhampatti Nagaraj. Appa's friends helped a lot in organising and managing the crowd at the buffet during wedding. Main intention was no guest should feel bad about the food and none should return with half stomach. As a result of all that hard work, all our guests praised the wedding food.
My engagement saree was by @a-s-babu-sah#. The sarees I wore at my reception and muhurtham were from @prakashsilksandsarees#. All my blouses were been personally designed by Rudhra akka @malibooclothing#. I left everything to her taste and it turned out to look very elegant.
Gowtham’s outfit for the engagement was from Lagan Chennai. The one he wore at our reception was from Syed Bawkher chennai. For the actual event or muhurtham, his attire was from @a-s-babu-sah#.
Usually brides go for something pink during the reception and red and golden for the muhurtham. I wanted mine to be unique so I chose orange for the night and green for moring.
Photography was taken care by @vipin# for Candid and Madhesh for overall. I have no words to say about Vipin anna! He was friendly and kind throughout the shoot.
My makeup was by Angels Erode. Farahna akka did my mehendhi and she did an AWESOME job. Coming to jewellery, my antique necklace, vangi and oddiyanam were from @sumangali-jewellersshoppingretail#, Coimbatore. My diamond necklace was from Maganlal jewellers and Rajendhra jewellers from Karaikudi. All bangles were from Rathan jewellers Coimbatore.
