Bride Of The Month - February '15
A resplendent bride in all her finery, walks across the aisle, ready to stun the people around! People have been enamoured of her gorgeous lehenga, her intricately designed blouses, her grand wedding sarees and her exquisite jewellery! So will you, I am sure! Meet the bold and beautiful bride, Sravya as the bride of the month!
Hello everyone! My name is Sravya. I was born and brought up in Hyderabad and did my undergrad from VNR VJIET and Masters from Arizona State University. I am currently working in San Jose, California. Nived and I met during our under graduation and our friendship gradually turned into a beautiful love story.
Our wedding date was fixed for Dec 2014, giving us 8 months to plan. I wanted my invitation to be special and different from others. A close friend, Sai spent a lot of time to help materialise my plans for an invitation website. After lots of weekends and late nights, he created it for us! http://sravyanived.com/
We had our Lagna Patrika on Oct 24th. Since both of us were in US, our parents and close family members met at an event and we were virtually present via video conference ;) And then our shopping and card distribution started out in full swing.
I was concentrating more on my dresses and wedding decors, while my parents and grand parents took care of the rest.
I reached Hyderabad on Nov 27th to enjoy all the pampering. I got my pre-bridal package done by Sunitha, Hyderabad.
I started off with my wedding shopping as soon as I got back! All my sarees were from Mandhir, Hyderabad except for one of my engagement sarees, which was from Kumaran weavers society, Kanchi.
My lehangas and blouses were designed by Aadhya boutique and Tritiya Designs, Hyderabad. They did a terrific job by giving me classy and fashionable outfits that perfectly suited me!
Groom’s clothes were the easiest. It was one stop shop for him. All his clothing and footwear was done by Mr. Sagar Tenali, Hyderabad.
The grand celebration kick started with our engagement ceremony at Trident, Hyderabad. The decoration was done by Mukta events. My makeup was done by Edward and as always, he did an amazing job.
It was followed by Mehendi / Sangeeth. This event was completely organized by my mom. It was very entertaining with dance, music and masti. Make up was done by Sara's makeup and hair studio. She gave me a completely different look and she was really comfortable to work with.
Pellikuturu function was held at home. Decoration again was done by @mukta-event-managers#. We chose a colourful floral backdrop and it was a hit! :)
Then came our Big day with both our wedding and reception at the same venue. I was very particular about my wedding decor. I am a great lover of art. I love to paint. I was sure I wanted paintings in my mandap. With Mr.Gangaraju Vaddi’s suggestions, we finalized the finer details of the wedding set.
We also had a "pallaku" by which I was carried to the stage! Such bridal entry made me feel like a princess!
For the reception, we chose a subtle decor with lot of orchids.
My wedding make up was done by Sandy Artist and @tamanna-makeup-studio# did it for my reception. Both of them did a fantastic job and importantly, they made me look natural without overdoing my makeup.
Choosing the photographer was no big task! I have been following @vijay-eesam-photography#’s work for a long time now and was sure that I wanted him! @vijay-eesam-photography# and his team captured amazing moments from all these events. I loved every single shot they took and they were super fun to work with. After our wedding , we were off to our honeymoon in Bali for 4 days of fun and adventure. We stayed in Bambu Indah, Ubud. The intricate bamboo architecture and use of natural materials was beautiful down to the finest details.
I wouldn't say planning from the US was the easiest job. But I had amazing family and friends who made this possible. I thank all my family and friends for making my wedding a colorful and undoubtedly most memorable event of my life.
