We got in touch with Keerthi Shanthanu, an ‘enthu cutlet’ of a person, who in a few minutes into the conversation started talking like we've known for a long time and we simply loved interacting with her! A cheerful, amusing, sweetly expressive, happy soul, who also happened to make a stunning bride, we think Keerthi for sure deserves the best ‘Twirl Tale’ ever told!
Everyone has seen how cheery you are on television and wonder how it is possible to be this all the time…
I’m known for being talkative and bubbly. I guess the cheeriness is all part of it. Don’t even get me started on how much I love ‘shopping’. One thing I cannot handle is sitting idle. These things about me, in particular, helped through my pre-wedding hyper hunt. I’m glad I get to share all about it!
Tell us about Shanthanu as a person and things you love about him…
Shanthanu, my husband, is a hardworking man, who happens to be impressively artistic and friendly. He is one person who is very supportive of my work, gives me full freedom to do what I love. Sometimes I still don’t feel like I’m married. May be that’s what it is like to marry your Best Friend. He doesn’t open up to everyone that easily, unlike how I am.
How did you guys get to know each other?
Shanthanu and I are childhood friends. He used to come to my mom’s dance classes. Apart from that both our families have known each other really well, more like family friends.
How and when did the transition happen?
Four years back, Shanthanu and I performed at a show by Raguram Master. A year or so after that, it so interestingly happened that he approached me with a marriage proposal. I thought it would be best if parents approve of it first. Eventually they did approve and that’s how our beautiful story started.
Let us in on the wedding planning and the happenings of your cocktail party…
About 15 days before the cocktail party, I met with Chaitanya Rao, discussed from sketch to fabric and out came my beautiful dress. Shanthanu and I were in ‘black’ and asked everyone else to come in vibrant colors other than black for the party. The Cocktail party attire for Shanthanu, from ‘Portfolio’, Hyderabad, was picked in an hours’ time and fit perfectly for the occasion and complimented my dress too! My make-up was done by Ibrahim and hair-do by Ambika of Rachel’s. The party was at Radisson Blu. Decors with yellow bulbs, just like what we wanted, were beautifully done by Art Director Anand who had done for films like ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Jayam’ and more. It was an awesome party. Our friends kept us in suspense till the last minute. We were supposed to do a major dance entrance. So it first started with couples dancing as they entered followed by Shanthanu and his family’s dance entrance and then finally my mom, dad and I had to do the same. It was lot of fun watching dubsmash funny videos our friends had made for us. Shanthanu totally took me by surprise with a song written and sung by him and composed by a professional Music Director Amreesh. Then later presented a beautiful ring. It was just amazing!
Did you have a Mehendi function?
Yes! Mehendi was an exclusive ‘all women’ affair for which the guys did help us with pick-up and drop stuff! Kala aunty had arranged a fantabulous Mehendi at a friend’s place and the Photographer for this event was Ranjith, a professional photographer.
What was the beauty regime you followed specially for the wedding?
Honestly, I have very sensitive skin, so I avoided all the facials and opted for a good massage, manicure and pedicure sittings.
We felt it very hard to compress all the lovely photos of the wedding in a single article! So do come back again tomorrow for all the lovely wedding and reception photos and details...
