Two School Mates, Their Classy Wedding & Their Happily Ever After
Divya our very chirpy and cheerful bride tells us how she found her soul mate in a quick story. Read on to know more.
Hi I am Divya a software engineer and my husband Lokesh is in the automobile industry. Ours is an arranged marriage set up. We are actually schoolmates who hardly knew each other in school. We are also family friends. It so happened that our families kept meeting each other in almost all the functions and finally found out that we were actually related. Since our families liked each there was a silent agreement made. It was during Lokesh’s brother’s wedding where it was officially announced. A few days from then was our engagement day. It happened so quickly that we hardly had time for the preps. But we wanted to have a good planned wedding so we asked for a months and before we realized our wedding day had arrived.
All my wedding sarees were from @prakashsilksandsarees# in Kanchipuram. It is the only store our entire family gets their wedding sarees from. My blouse was designed by Anitha Reddy from Colam Boutique,Chennai. She is family. I have tried so many designers even if I liked the work I never got a good fit. With Anitha the designs and the fit are so perfect. For my reception I wore an Indo-Western gown. It was both traditional and modern. The design was completely conceived by me. Most reception gowns are a onetime wear so I designed it in such a way that I can use it after the wedding too. I did a lot of search in Shopzters and finally decided to get it stitched from @studio-149-by-swathiclothing#.Swathi from @studio-149-by-swathiclothing# has an amazing choice in colors and is very creative too. I should thank Swathi once again for accepting my design and giving me my dream look. My husband’s outfits were from @gabbana-life# and shoes were from Gucci.
My makeup was by @bronzer-bridal-makeup-artist#. I looked at a few pictures of her previous work and fell in love with it. Her makeup is very traditional. Most makeup artist don’t really agree to our choice. Viji was none like that. I gave her references for nethi-chutti and even though there was very less time she got one done exactly like that. She looks into such minor details and makes sure she gives her best. Frankly speaking I have never done this kind of makeup before. This was my first time and I was not really comfortable. I was literally in tears because of the mascara and the lens that I used for the very first time.Viji handled me with so much patience and the end result was out of the world. She gave me three different looks and I loved everything. Every piece of Jewellery I wore for my wedding was from GRT.
For photography we had two different teams. One for candid and the other for regular photos. The regular pictures were clicked by Balaji. He is a family friend and is good with his work. The candid ones were clicked by @jeevan-photography#. He has a different tone in his pictures and they are excellent. I must tell about Jeevan here. One of the most humble people I have ever met. No matter what happens Jeevan always focus on his work.As a person he is so good at heart and his work is even better than that.I have no words to express how thankful I am. My wedding decor was by D Chandrashekar and team.
A piece of advice to all the to-be brides. Don’t concentrate too much on how beautiful you are going to look. Just relax and enjoy all the pampering you are getting. Do not try anything new. Keeping your mind fresh should me the number one priority. Eat well and most importantly sleep well. You will definitely have that glow on your wedding day.
Lastly special mentions to Shopzters for helping me plan my wedding with the best vendors in the market.
