Hi! I'm Ciyama, A Wedding & Party Designer, Also working for LYCA group, UK and my best half's name is Mayooran who is a Civil Engineer. Ours was an arranged Sri Lankan Hindu Wedding. We met in the UK for the first time through our family connection, I was there for LYCA Christmas party last December, on our first meeting he wore me a gold chain and proposed me.
Something clicked immediately and here we are happily married now.
We got married on the thirtieth of April 2017 at Nadaraja Parameswary Hall which is located at Nallur, Sri lanka - the divine city of god Muruga.
Since I'm a Wedding designer, I was involved in every little detail of the wedding planning process.
My wedding theme was Raja Rani, everything was customized accordingly. From the invitation cards to wedding trousseau, stage décor and return gifts even mehendi design.
Pre wedding/ Lagnam / Muhurtham :
I wore an Orange and purple traditional Kanchi saree and teamed it up with an purple blouse. I decided to go with antique jewellery for this look.
So I wore temple jewellery, from Sukras, Mylapore.
I was very particular about the color chilly red for my wedding saree because I felt red is the only color that gives the perfect bridal feel. muhurtham & Wedding both sarees are from @a-s-babu-sah#, Kancheepuram, we flew all the way from Colombo to Chennai for the wedding shopping. My muhurtham saree blouse was designed by @shaams# Designer Studio and Wedding saree blouse was designed by Geetu - Designing Studio.
I was very very excited because I had this dream wedding outfit which I wanted badly.
My wedding jewellery was bought from Luxhmi Jewellers, UK, Eden & Ravi Jewellers, Colombo. My temple jewellery Wedding decor was done by my friend who is a wedding planner his company is named Evergreen Events.

Wedding invitation cards were customized and designed by Royal Cards, Chennai.
My mehndi artist was a person from Jaffna, who was not only good at her work but highly patient. I wore bright red top Rohit Bal’s label, and the day was a blast! My friend surprised me with a raja rani mehendi cake. It was full of bright colors and loud music! All my cousins & aunty came down from London they made me feel like a princess and that is something I will never forget.
Wedding day undoubtedly is a day when your emotions are up for a “Roller coaster ride” and since I am the only daughter with two brothers, this moment was way more emotional for me.
t is a must to know your other half better than you know yourself so we decided to spend our 21 adventurous honeymoon days at London and gathered memories that we will cherish forever.
We had our reception 3 weeks after the wedding at London, since my husband lives there and we have more relations there. For my Reception, I wore Lehenga, from Zarkan of London- an exclusive bridal boutique in Green street, London. Footwear was from Modish, London. Reception Make up was done by Dazzling Darlings, London
So, this was my Wedding! It truly is the most important day of our lives and my advice to all the To-Be-Weds is to not stress! Go to the Spa, relax and spend a lot of time with your family. Enjoy the days before your wedding.
