A Bangalore Wedding With Incredible South Indian Flavours
Our beautiful bride Reshma and her love Sandeep fell for each other in school. Read on to know how that very innocent love leads them to marriage.
I am Reshma and I work as a HR and Sandeep my better half is in the automobile industry. Ours is a love and arranged marriage. Mix of both worlds. We turned eight this year. We have known each other since the time we were in school from the 11th grade. We were in the same batch, same group which means same set of friends. On my birthday a few of us were playing a game called truth or dare and his dare was to propose me. He did propose but the only surprise here was that he did that for real. I was shocked. It took me nearly a month to say yes and soon after that we got caught at home. So that’s how we got started. It took us about three years to convince our parents and we finally got married this year.
Our wedding was a dream come true. One very interesting thing we did for our wedding was our pre-engagement shoot. It was a top motion animation shoot. Just a handful of couples in India have done this. How it works is they take nine clicks and club it into a video. So our photographer recreated the entire eight years into one and a half minute invite which was for our engagement.
For our engagement Sandeep and I wore outfits from @sabyasachi-hyderabad# and my Jewellery was from Navrathan Jewellers in Bangalore. My make up was done by @manjusha-bajaj-professional-airbrush-makeup-artist-bangalore#. She was referred to me by a friend. I had seen her work in a friend’s wedding and loved it, she did the same magic for my wedding too. Photography was by @savitha-patil-photography# her work is brilliant and incomparable, she was the one who came up with the pre-engagement invite. The décor was by Nalesa Floral Fusions, Geethanjali. She is the best in town for large scale weddings. Her work is always better than what she promises and she never repeats them. She creates something new every single time. She only uses imported flowers and she keeps everything unique. Our caters were Sri Maiyys who did an amazing job too.
All my outfits were my mum’s suggestion. I have to give her all the credit. For my reception I wore a lehenga from Manish Malhotra and for my muhurtham a saree from Kalamandri in Visakhapatnam. Outfit for my mehendi was from Asiana Couture and for my sangeeth it was from Samyak and for the bridal ceremony it was from MVR Mall in Visakhapatnam. Sandeep’s outfit for the reception was from PN Rao and for all other functions it was from Samyak. Jewellery for my reception was from PNJ Jewellers, Hyderabad. For my muhurtham it was a combination of PNJ Jewellers, Swarna Sankalp and Navrathan Bangalore.
A very memorable moment from our wedding was when he proposed me during the Sangeeth. The first time he proposed me was in the 11thgrade and after that the first proper proposal was only now. He swept me off my feet once again there. This moment is very close to my heart.
