From Proposing At Thiruvanmiyur Temple To Getting Married At A Temple in Gobichettipalayam - The Wedding Story Of Pradheep & Gayathri
As children, we all read fairy tales and there were definitely times when we dreamt of our own stories. While girls imagined their knight in shining armor, boys dreamt of a Cinderella in a tower high above. While many say that fairy tales were just stories, there are many who've heard and saw real life fairy tales. This is not the story of a princess locked away in a tower or cursed into a deep sleep but rather the story of a human resources manager who fell in love at first sight. Here's her story, her fairy tale. A fairy tale in Chennai.
Chennai, a city that has hidden pearls beneath the subtle exterior. I'm Gayathri and like many little girls, I too dreamt of my prince charming. Working as a human resource manager and as an entrepreneur, I keep myself quite busy. I have my own online store called Bhaminee Terracotta where people can come to buy earthen clay jewelry.
It was back in 2008 that my love story came into existence. I was pursuing my masters in business administration and he was in his final year old of computer science. It's funny how though we both were in the same college for a long time, it took us quite a while to meet. We met on the 4th of November 2008, a time when the weather is beautiful. A casual get together with friends was all it took for us to fall in love. We connected instantly. We exchanged numbers and embarked on a journey like no other. It took me quite a while but finally I told him how I felt about him and he was speechless.
The first place we went as a couple was a temple in Thiruvanmiyur. Pradheep met me at the entrance and led me inside the temple and little did I know what was going to happen. He asked me to marry him and tears rolled down my cheeks while my heart was filled with joy.
After getting an official approval from both our families, the real work began. We decided to hold the wedding on 16 and 17th February, 2016 in Gobichettipalayam and 26th February in Chennai. We also thought of having a reception in both Gobichettipalayam and Chennai. Our engagement and reception was held at Sri Muthu Mahal at Gobichettipalayam and the wedding at Pachamalai Murugan temple.
We decided to have an outdoor reception so we chose Hotel Palmgrove in Chennai. The decor was done by GPS Ravi in Gobi and by Anisha from Bell Decor in Chennai. We had 3000 footfalls in the reception at Gobi and we had 1100 footfalls for both the receptions in Chennai. The most amazing part was the shopping; I also got my facials, pedicure and manicure done at Green Trends and a body spa at Oryza.
I was very comfortable while shopping at Diva and @kay-the-fashion-bay#. Their huge collection is great for all kinds of budgets. I chose an indo western dress by ShreeJee for our sangeet. I bought a saree at @a-s-babu-sah# from Kanchipuram for the engagement and wedding. Pradheep decided to buy an antique gold sherwani from Manish Boutique and a black tuxedo for the reception. Pradheep shopped for his wedding attire from A S Babu Sah in Kanchipuram.
I chose to do my makeup in @bronzer-bridal-makeup-artist# who definitely doesn't need an introduction. The groom got his make-up done from Green Trends as he knew people there. He looked absolutely handsome.
@aaron-obed# took care of the photography, he was very understanding and customized the packages according to our requirements. He shot memorable moments both at Gobichetipalayam and Chennai with his fantastic boys who were full of energy and passion.
I'm so happy that everything happened smoothly and the ceremony was beautiful. The whole family had a blast and I loved the little time I got to pamper myself. I can't wait to see the entire wedding album with Pradheep. This was definitely the fairytale I had dreamt of my whole life.
