A Kongunad Wedding That Had A Parade Of Bulls & Cows To Show Its Support For Jallikattu
Hello everyone. I am Keerthana a graduate from PSG College with a degree in PGDM and my husband Gobinath has a Masters from UK and is currently a Civil engineer. Ours is an arranged marriage beautifully put together in Kongu Style. We were introduced to each other by our families. The first time we met was in a temple next to my house and it so happened that we were both wearing the same color clothes. We spoke for a few minutes and immediately knew we were meant to be together. The rest happened very quickly
We first met on the 4th of September and four months from then was our Engagement. The time gap between our engagement and wedding was around two months. Those two months were full of surprises and a lot of fun. Our families are very orthodox and so we were not allowed to meet before the wedding. Since I was studying in Coimbatore, we decided to break the rules and he would very secretly come to see me. The very first date was a long romantic walk in race course after which we went to a temple. Our first movie was the horror film Devi. Horror always brings us closer doesn’t it? Wink. My biggest surprise was on Valentine’s Day. I was told that he was in Bangalore. But that day when I stepped into my house, he had a surprise treasure hunt planned for me. I found a lot of treasures during the hunt and the final treasure was my fiance himself. It was such a good surprise.
Our wedding took place in Muthu Mahal, Erode. It was on 1st March at that time there were a lot of Jallikatu protests going on. To show our support, we had a small parade of bulls and cows in front of the mandap. This was one of the biggest highlights of our wedding.
I got my reception and wedding saree from @mahaveers-the-silk-peopleclothing# and the other sarees from Masakalipalayam. The Jewels that I wore for my muhurtham are from Ratna Jewellers in Coimbatore and for my reception, I got a customized one from Karaikudi. My husband got his attire from Paresh Lamba, Banglore. My mehendi and sangeeth happened in my house with many dance performances and of course with a lot of fun. For my outdoor shoot, I picked up dresses from Westside. My makeup was done by @sahanaa-moorthy# from Coimbatore. My wedding décor was by Reshma of @flora-wedding-planners#. She did a great job and was extremely friendly and patient. Photos were by @mystic-studios# who were very creative and have taken some beautiful pictures that we will remember forever.
We went for our first honeymoon to Mauritius and stayed at Angsana Balaclava and from then on we have been honeymooning to Shimal, Ooty and more.
