A Charming Wedding Of Two Doctors
What happens when two doctors come together? They give us nothing but a portion of love. Sridevi the very lovable doctor to be tells us her story short and sweet just like how doctors would do.
I am Sridevi a medical student and an aspiring doctor. My husband Deepak is a doctor too. He works in AIIMS ,Delhi. Ours is an arranged marriage. Soon after I finished my final year my parents started the hunt for a perfect groom. In that process they registered in a matrimony site and pictures of grooms started coming in full swing. The minute I saw his picture I liked him but my family was not too convinced. The reason being my dad is a doctor and he wanted to get me married to a family full of doctors, but in his family he was the only doctor. By being stubborn and saying a big no too all other grooms I convinced my family. Finally the groom’s side decided to come and see me. Initially it was just my mother in law who came to see me and she immediately fell in love with me. Quoting my mother in law here” I got this same feeling years back when I first met your father in law”. Yes the friendship quotient between my mother in law and me was quite high. Finally he came to meet me after a months’ time and the first thing I asked him was if he really liked me. He said obviously yes, “why do you think I came all the way from Delhi? “. He also said that he is not someone who believed in arranged marriage and that he agreed only because it was me. That’s how it all started and now here we are officially husband and wife.
Our wedding took place in Rani Meyyammai hall. My wedding saree and my reception lehenga were from @mokshaa# and the other sarees were from Kanchipuram. Footwear was from Kobbler. Make up was by Viji, @bronzer-bridal-makeup-artist# and photography was by @studio-31#. My Jewellery was something very different called chocolate jewellery from GRT. It was a brand new collection they had just launched. It matched perfectly with my reception lehenga. My muhurtham jewels were also from the same store. Mehendi was by Pinky from Lakme saloon..
We had a lot of fun moments one of it was the toe-ring ritual where I just did not allow him to put the toe ring and was having my own fun time. The other was ring game which all the newlyweds play right after the muhurham. He always caught the ring even before it fell into the water and won the game.
The beauty regime I followed started a month before my wedding. I did a de tan facial, skin lightening facial and an advanced skin lightening facial. The home remedy that I tried was a mixture of badam powder, gram flour and milk.
Our Honeymoon was in Jammu and Kashmir for one week. It was super cold and beautifully scenic
