A Sita Kalyanam Kind of Wedding Of A Bride So Cheerful
While Malini met her beloved over a typical arranged marriage set-up, she feels that they were meant to be, forever. With the blessings of everyone alike, the couple tied the knot. Let’s hear it from the gorgeous bride herself who takes us through her beautiful journey of wedding shopping.
“Our Sangeeth took place on the 2nd of June where we had a practice session for over 7 days. It was a delight to watch everyone, right from a 3-year old cousin till the 80 year old grandfather grooving for a beautiful dance thereafter.
The decorators for the Sangeeth were Vermilion Events by Lokesh. They provided us with a traditional swing and a photo booth that everybody loved.
Dilip’s outfits were from @mokshaa#. I wore a blue gown designed by Nanditha at @turquoise-design-studio#. She is more than just a designer to me. She’s been a good friend of mine and had always made sure to fulfil my desires with regard to clothing and couture. She always took care of my apparels with care and precision. Even if I give her a last- minute work, she makes sure to deliver her services on time.
Makeup was by @make-up-ibrahim# and his brother @make-up-ibrahim# for most of the events. They did an amazing job and needless to say, they’re brilliant in what they do.
My wedding took place in Pondicherry at a temple. My pre-wedding was a Sita kalyanam event which our family believes as a good sign and a good luck charm.I wore an orange saree from @a-s-babu-sah#, Kanchipuram. All the sarees that I wore, my mother, sisters and my mother-in-law wore were from @a-s-babu-sah# as well. His blue suit was from @raymond-made-to-measure#, Chennai and all his silk essentials were from @nalli-silks#.
We also had traditional dances like the ones of elephant, horses etc. These rituals were carried over for my sisters also.
My muhurtham took place at the Panchamuka Anjaneyar temple which holds the pride of having a 36-feet tall Anjeneyar. My muhurtham blouse was also by Nanditha. She did an amazing job with the first-of-its-kind blouse with the motifs of Sita and Rama onlooking their big day with garlands in hands. We had a temple set-up on the sleeves and at the back of the neck.
We had two traditional photographers and the candid credits goes to @once-upon-a-time-wedding-tales#. We have to give it to them for beautifully capturing the moments. We were very satisfied with the output since all the attendees were in the pictures and weren’t missed out.
Our reception took place in MRC Hall, Chennai with over 5000 guests. The decors were with fresh flowers by Pandiyan Decors, the most wanted decorator in all of Chennai. My jewelry were from VBJ and some of the customized pieces were from Chamundi Jewellers, Chennai.
Catering was taken over by Saraswathi caterers. They did an amazing job with crowd management and their food spreads were extra-ordinary. We also had a special pooja made on our names and got the prasadh from over 60 temples, priests walked in with the prasadhs and also gave us the garlands of the God’s to be exchanged.
We had a cake specially made for us from “Edible sins” by Kamali. We are her regulars and do not miss an opportunity to talk about how tasty her cakes are.
I was very conscious about my diet before the big day. I drank a lot of fresh juices. They say pomegranates do miracles to your skin and increase complexions. I also visited Studio profile for a couple of sittings for facials.
Although I had been to Singapore many times before and being my favourite country besides India, we visited it again and had a great time sharing each other’s company.
