A Cross Cultural Wedding With The Bride in Opulent Outfits
How many cross cultural weddings have the authenticity of both cultures? Not much right. Here is one such wedding which perfectly reflects two different cultures.
Hi I am Hemanandini and my husband's name is Ujwal. This is a cross cultural wedding and I made sure it reflects that in all places right from the invitation to the food. Ujwal is from Mangalore but brought up in Pondicherry and I am from Pondicherry. It's an unexpected love story because we had chances to know each other way before because we lived in the same area. But we never met, in fact we studied in the same college and still did not meet. We only met in our workplace where we were in the same batch for training. It was a quick warp up story, he proposed for and I said yes, with all the blessings and consent of our parents everything happened in few months time. We got engaged in November 2016. And our marriage dates were fixed in may 2017 in Pondicherry. I started my wedding plans in December 2016.
I first started looking out for designers as I had a designer outfit in my mind something like "Bajirao Mastani" type of dress. I enquired with one of my good friends about her reception dress and she said it was done by @sruthi-kannath#.
SRUTHI is one of the reasons that my wedding ended up being a big grandeur event. She has a very good attitude towards clients, she listens to all the ideas from her clients and makes a lot of effort to put them into her designs. I got my muhurtham blouse and reception dress done by her. For my mehendhi, sangeet and nalangu Shree tailors, Pondicherry designed my lehenga and blouses. Muhurtham saree was the last thing I bought. It was just 5 days before my wedding and i got it from @kumaran-silks# T.nagar.
The very next thing I booked was my MUA. In fact I enquired for my wedding make up well ahead of my engagement, say in august. I fixed @bridal-studio-noor# as I've seen his make up in my cousin's wedding I was so sure he is going to do magic. His team along with Hair stylist Rani did a great job for my wedding and reception.
I did my skin regime 3 months prior to wedding from Kaya Skin Clinic being one of their old customers I had great confidence and comfort with them. I then booked photography which was also an easy task for me because he is one of my mutual friends, I fixed them for my engagement and looking at the results, I undoubtedly fixed them for wedding too. It was @shakir-photography# from Pondicherry itself. One of the best photograpy team in Pondicherry, his pictures are amazing. And then I booked my mehendhi artist and guest mehendhi artist. Again my artist is a friend of mine, very talented person Narmada from Pondicherry. And for guest mehendhi I booked from Chennai Viji Mehendi Arts they were so economical and good at what they do.
I bought my wedding gold jewels from Tanishq, @joy-allukas# and Jos Alukas. Artificial jewellery from Sonal T.Nagar and rental jewellery from New Selection Sowcarpet.
I designed my wedding card with artist Ponmozhi who I came to know from my friend. Very humble person who gladly accepts the client's designs. My family card was designed at Dawn Cards pondicherry.
My flower jewellery for mehendhi and flower vaeni for muhurtham from Vaagai a branch of PELLIPOOLA JADA in pondicherry. One of my close friend Vicky a talented Emcee and television host from Chennai did DJ and Emcee for sangeet and wedding reception. Our wedding was more of an entertainment package where people totally enjoyed with selfie corner, photo booth and dance floor. I did a surprise dance performance in the reception and we had a crazy photo shoot during muhurtham. My dream wedding came out so true with all the true efforts of the above mentioned people.
One of the most memorable moment in my wedding was the surprise dance. A few of my friends and I did a surprise dance perfromance during the reception. We had a great time dancing and everyone simply loved it.
