A Dream Wedding Story That’ll Have You Asking for More!
Nivethitha and Saiprasad met in 2012 during their internship. It didn’t take them too long to realize that they were ‘made for each other’!
With the dawn of 2013 Saiprasad made up his mind to take their love to greater heights and so he proposed and a teary and emotional Nivethitha said the golden word ‘YES’.
Since then the loving couple are together. Fortunately, their parents were supportive of this alliance and all that was left was for them to finish their studies. After 6 years of courtship, it was finally the time that they had been waiting for eagerly. The wedding bells were about to ring and the adorable chartered accountant couple from Chennai was all set to tie the knot.
Reminiscing about the day when he proposed to Nivethitha, Saiprasad shared a fond memory – “I was on cloud 9 when he proposed. He’s the most understanding partner who always supports and encourages me in everything I do. The best gift a woman can ask for!”
A dream wedding
Nivethitha and Saiprasad preferred a traditional wedding in a temple with a gamut of close relatives followed by a reception. Their parents preferred a grand wedding with a several guests but Nivethitha’s dream wedding venue was the MRC.
As the couple didn’t favor an extravagant wedding they settled for a two day wedding. The bride and groom’s parents also came around to the idea of a viratham in a small mandapam and a wedding ceremony and reception in MRC on the same day.
When asked about her idea of a dream wedding, Nivethitha said – “Saiprasad and I, we both wanted our parents and relatives to enjoy our wedding and have a great time. We wanted to stay calm and enjoy our special day together.”
Nivethitha’s sister planned out the stage decorations and being a professional stylist herself she did a splendid job. Nivethitha shared how she was totally dependent on her sister for every single thing right from a small clip on her hair to makeup, jewellery, clothes and footwear.
Trends and preferences
Right from their engagement, the couple decided to go for a unique approach. Nivethitha chose to wear a traditional as well as contemporary half saree and chose monochrome colors like full yellow Banarasi traditional. The bride looked stunning in the bright yellow glow and the most remarkable part of this outfit was that she bought it online and got it stitched later. She wore Navarathna 9 gem colored jewellery and a dull grey custom modern one with emerald green stone necklace. As she didn’t fancy gold, most of her trinkets were either imitation or silver.
For viratham - she got a dazzling green instrument print motifs pattu from our very own @ananthra-by-shopzters# Sarees’ collection and matched it with a unique coffee brown blouse (suggested by her sister) and wore Guttapusalu Oxidised silver pearl set. This was followed by another Kanjeevaram sarees gifted by her in-laws. The venue for viratham day 1 was at Sankaramadam where they hosted a close family gathering.
When asked about her best buy, the bride said “My blouses from @studio-9696# all by Ekta and team was the best find!“
For the wedding ceremony - she wore a pastel pink 9 yards silk saree curated by ace weavers in Kanchipuram and paired it with temple jewellery. Her look was complete with a one of its kind choker and mathapatti from Aharya and drop dead-gorgeous earrings from ‘Bcos Its Silver’. A long haaram also added to the bride’s beauty. The wedding saree was a 9 yards wonder made by Tharikkar Balu, Oonjal Sari from Pachaiyappas Kanchipuram. On day 2 for both wedding and reception the chosen venue was the Valliammai Hall in MRC.
For the reception – The bride captured every onlooker’s fancy all dolled-up in her Sarah Lehenga by @mrunalini-rao#.
The beautiful and creative wedding invite were designed by Sobadra, which was an Instagram find. The breathtaking pictures are a masterwork of ace photographers at @weva-photography# photography. The remarkable stage décor was done by @marriage-colours#. The picture perfect make up for marriage and reception was done by Mohan on day 1 viratham and @bronzer-bridal-makeup-artist# make up for marriage and reception. The bride’s jewellery collection was a combination of staple pieces from different brands like Amrapali, Bcos Its Silver, Aaharya and se also used some of her own pieces.
