A Wedding Full Of Color, Laughter And Romance!

Destiny is a funny thing. The universe too, in a way. That’s probably why the phrase ‘It will happen only when it has to happen’ holds so true! This sentiment is also very prevalent in the Wedding Story of our bride Arthi and her husband Anand. Curious? Please read on!

Hello Arthi, thank you so much for taking the time for sharing your wedding story! Your wedding images are beautiful, we cannot wait to share it with every bride out there!

Thank you for the kind words, its super fun sharing the wedding story, I relive the entire wedding again, and that’s always a pleasure.

 So tell us Arthi, how did you meet Anand. Did you guys know each other from before?

No we did not, but there is a huge back story for this! Ours was a Love marriage, and we met each other after we finished college, but the funny part is, we were at the same college! He was my senior and even funnier; we lived in the same locality! We still laugh about it, I mean, what are the odds! There were so many chances for us to bump into each other, in college or at least somewhere near our locality. Yet we never got to. We met just like that well after college ended, through common friends. We hit it off right from the first meeting and soon we became best friends. Only when he moved abroad did we both realise that what we shared was something even more special. And because we both were blessed and lucky, here we are Happily married!

Wow! I guess destiny had its own plans! So Arthi, we love what you wore for your wedding! Could you please tell us a little more about where you bought what?

Yes, would love to share the details. let me start with what I wore for my Uruthivaarthai . For my Uruthi Vaarthai , we had a private function in my home and I wore a Benaras saree from @mahaveers-the-silk-peopleclothing#. The blouse was done by @the-pebbles-design-studioclothing#, and their wok was fantastic. I dressed up on my own and wore simple jewellery which I already had. Photography was covered by Giri Stills, and they did a great job.

Then we hosted a cocktail party and sangeeth, both at the Hotel Aloft, Coimbatore. For the cocktail I wore a gown which I chanced upon on 6Y.com. It is a pretty cool website. For the Sangeeth, which was also my Mehendi function I wore a Lehenga which I got from @kalanikethan#, Chennai.  Mehendi was done by Meeta Joshi, she and her team were exceptional and did a great job.

I am a traditional girl at heart, and I had already decided that I would wear only Kancheepuram pattu for my wedding. For  my Engagement, Reception and Wedding I wore Kancheepuram Pattu, from @prakashsilkssarees-onlinestore#. They had a huge  collection and I loved all my sarees.

The blouse work for engagement, reception and Wedding  was all done by Shanthini of ‘@the-pebbles-design-studioclothing#’, her designs were pretty excellent and I was very satisfied .

I wore Jewelley @vbj#, Chennai. They had good and exclusive collections.

The make up for my Reception and Marriage was done by Satish Babu, he was very good and patient. I like a sort of understated elegant look in makeup and he clearly understood my needs.

The Venue for the Engagement, Reception and Wedding was at Suguna Auditorium, Coimbatore.

Catering was done by Mathampatty Thangavel. The food was delicious and we got great feedback too.

Photography was done by @mystic-studios# and they were excellent as you can see from our pictures. I just loved their work.

The décor was taken care of by Nagaraj and his daughter Aparna from ‘The Backdrop Events’

 Anand was styled by Gibran and his hair was done by Rudra.

I purchased my footwear from Mochi.

I follow shopzters  regularly and your website was of huge help when I had to pick out various services  for the wedding so a big Thank You.

So did you guys go for your honeymoon?

Yes! And it was amazing. We went for a Euro trip! We travelled to Switzerland, Paris, Belgium and Amsterdam. It lasted for 2 weeks! We did not go with a package trip or anything like that. We just planned everything ourselves with the help from Tripadvisor and went ourselves! Europe is very easy to plan and travel. We also had a photoshoot at Paris! The city was so romantic.
