An Arranged Wedding That Spun Into A Love Story
When love strikes, it strikes hard! This is story of a marriage that was arranged but the chemistry between the two was just too overwhelming. The bride is a chirpy beautiful woman who was all so very excited to share her experience. Here's the story of Reshma & Aditya.
I am Reshma from Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh) and my husband's name Aditya Teja.
Ours was an arranged marriage. We used to talk over the phone regularly before I officially met my beau. Before the meet, I thought I should wait some more time to marry and he felt the same, but after we spoke to each other, we fell in love.
He had become my drug and I fell madly in love with him. So much so that I can't express it in words.
I am extremely lucky and blessed to have him in my life. His parents treat me like their own daughter. Before marriage I was in the thought that no one can be as affectionate as my parents because I was the pampered one, but nothing has changed, as I still feel the same with my in-laws.
We had 6 functions- the Engagement , Sangeet , Mehendi function, Bridal ceremony , The Wedding and finally the Reception.
My wedding sarees are from Kanchi (@prakashsilksandsarees#, Santhanam n @a-s-babu-sah#) & @tulsi-silks-1#, Chennai. My wedding saree was a customized one. I had added a big border and tassels that had the depiction of a bride & groom with garlands. It took 5 days and 7 workers to complete. It was teamed with a modern concept blouse.
My engagement saree was purchased from @varamahalakshmi-silks#, Hyderabad and the engagement blue parrot n pot lehenga was customized and designed by me. The reception lehenga was from @mugdhaartstudioclothing#, Hyderabad.
Jewelry was mostly purchased from PMJ jewellary and Vasundhara, Hyderabad. My jewelry was in accordance with my outfits and I managed not to repeat any of the pieces for the different occasions. Foot wear was from Neerus, Steve Madden and Carlton.
The Mehandhi function was planned vey traditionally and the artists were brought in from Rajasthan. The return gifts were brought from Delhi. It consisted of some bangles, girly stuff and bags. The Sangeet was a cocktail party that we started at 7pm and ended at the early hours of 4:30am.
During my wedding shopping, I was totally confused with my reception lehenga. Finally Sashi Vangapalli had done a show for Lakme fashion week (Mugdha art studios) She helped me a lot.
@blush-fine-makeup-art# had done my make-up for the events. They did a wonderful job. The flowers were from Pelli Poola Jeda.
My Wedding photography was done by @dot-dn-studios#. Deepak Nadh was the photographer and helped us a lot with the events. I would recommend him as one of the best. Veerendra Gadde was another photographer that was with us for the event.
For our honeymoon we went to Malaysia, Bali and Bangkok. The best place to relax is Bali and we stayed at Ayana resorts. They were very hospitable and the rooms were good. The rock bar at the Ayana resorts is excellent. Bangkok is one of the best place for shopping.
My family had been a great help throughout especially my Mom. I was very excited to share my experience with Shopzters as it helped me throughout my journey during my wedding season. During the course of my shopping sprees, I used to check out the website 10-15 times a day! Thank you for all the help!
