In times like these, when we hear a lot of Love Marriages, one wedding comes along, which just lights up our world, because it depicts an Arranged Marriage where everything turned out well! We have one bubbly girl, who took a stand to get to know her guy before saying yes, and that decision paved way for an amazing wedding! Please read on, to get to know the wedding story of the spirited Gayathri, and the love of her life, Sriram. My marriage was an arranged marriage. I knew it was a huge decision so I insisted that I know the person and talk to him for a couple of weeks before I make a decision. So one fine day our parents got his number for me and gave mine to him.Our phone calls and texts and Skype calls went on for a month and we decided to get engaged without meeting each other in person! I’ve always felt that it was important to meet someone in person before getting engaged, but in our case it just happened! Even now we keep asking each other how we agreed to get married without meeting each other in person. I should say it was definitely magical! So our first meeting was when he had come down from US during the engagement time and that was when I met Sriram for the first time!
The most important part of any wedding for a girl is shopping! All my shopping had to be done in exactly 3 months! For the reception we went with a Lehenga for me and a Sherwani for Sriram, as we went the traditional route for the Muhurtham; in which I had to wear a cotton yellow Saree according to our custom.The Lehenga and the Sherwani was made by SAMYAKK Bangalore and I should say they are one of the best boutiques I've been to! The range of clothing they offer is very varied.All Saree’s for the engagement and other events were from Mahaveer's Coimbatore and Kalyan Saree’s Salem. The blouse was done by LITHA's boutique SALEM and ANYA Coimbatore.For the Jewellery shopping I wanted to go with the ruby stones as my saree was a cotton yellow saree, so PRINCE jewellery Chennai and ANS Jewellers in Salem had the best choices that could go with my Saree.
All the other jewellery shopping was done at KIRTILAL in Coimbatore and AVR SWARNAMAHAL Salem. For all the other things like footwear I went to Commercial Street Bangalore where I had number of options for everything I wanted.The mehendi was done by BHAVANA from Salem and she was absolutely brilliant! I never had any idea about mehendi so I left the choice of design to her and she was great at it! I must add, that for all her talent, she is also one of the most humble people I’ve met! The Decor and backdrop for the wedding and reception was done by SHIVAZ decorators, Paramathi Vellore. I got to know about their work when they did the job at a friends’ wedding. Simply put, they are brilliant and trustworthy. You just let them know what you want and not worry about a thing. They sure know how to make it great! The catering was done by POTTUMANI from Salem whom were my parents’ choice, and they were really good at it.Make up was done by SALON MANTHRA, Salem, and yes I should say they are the best and they definitely did add the beauty on my big day!
Now, the photography! Sriram and I did not want to compromise on the photography. So for candid photo and video we went with VIPIN photography. I've never seen any photographer so dedicated and simple. Vipin and his team did an amazing job in such a short time! It's is an unforgettable memory for me and Sriram with his team! Any day, any time, any occasion Vipin and his team would bring the apt output and make you feel more than satisfied! My thanks to Vipin Anna for the wonderful memories! For the traditional photography and videography we went with MONI Photos and Videos, Salem who also did a great job at the wedding.And finally we tied the knot amidst our family, relatives and friends. Friends are an integral part of one’s life, and we were happy to have ours at the wedding! For the honeymoon, we chose MALDIVES MEERU ISLAND RESORT AND SPA. It is an amazing place and I fall in love with it all over again every time I think about it! We went on short honeymoon as we had to leave to the US in a weeks’ time and we did not want to miss spending time with our families.My message to all the ladies reading this is to just not worry much about the big day, the right person will enter your life at the right time and then life definitely becomes amazing! Just stay happy, get some beauty sleep before the wedding and enjoy the presence of everyone on your big day! Well said Gayathri! We say. Well said!
