A Lot Can Happen Over Coffee - Story Of An Arranged Marriage

We are all familiar with the Café Coffee Day tag line. This is the story of Poojitha and Karthik. A story where two people meet at a CCD. A story where an hour of conversation is all it took to fall in love and begin a lifelong journey of togetherness. Here is what Poojitha said about her wedding.

Our’s was an arranged marriage. Kaarthik is my aunt’s friend’s son. He is also my cousin’s childhood friend. We met at a coffee day for the first time and had a conversation for about 45 Minutes. After the meet I felt he was the one. Both of us said yes and our wedding was fixed on the same day.

 

We shopped for the engagement just three days after our first meet. We got engaged 10 days after that. We had exactly six months to plan our wedding . Before the wedding we also had a small sangeet ceremony at a club.

 

Wedding planning was a cake walk!  My mom-in-law was proactive in arranging the event. She fixed every vendor and the arrangements were perfect. Make sure you fix all the vendors three to four months prior to the event.

 

Venue was The Apartment, Park Hyatt Chennai. We wanted a unique venue and The Apartment offered it. The place resembled a beautiful colonial house. We could customize the menu and the catering by Park Hyatt was exceptional!

 

Invitations for the wedding was done by Kaelodos. Wedding décor was by Event Ethics. My wedding outfit was from Varasidhi while that of Kaarthik was from 108 Bespoke, Bangalore. My diamond jewellery for the wedding was from Thribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ).

 

Make-up was done by Samantha Jagan (@wink-unisex-salon#). Always go for a trial make up and purchase your clothes atleast two months before the wedding. It helps.  @aaron-obed# Photography did a great job with the wedding album. Balvin Photography took care of the videography bit. Happy booth (Chennai) created a lolvely photo booth. The event anchor was Priyanka (Vijay TV anchor).

 

I have only one tip for brides to be. Sleep well, Eat healthy, exercise and do not stress yourself.
