Bride of the month – November!
Happy to feature Arthi Viswanathan, a cheerful young bride from our very own Coimbatore! I loved interacting with her for the details regarding her wedding! This beautiful bride is here to share all the details that she took care of, for her wedding!
Hello shopzters! I am Arthi Viswanathan, the proud daughter of Er.Viswanathan and Shanthi Viswanathan born in the Manchester of south India – Coimbatore. I have always been a playful bubbly girl whom people can’t easily dislike! J My schooling was completely in Coimbatore. I did Civil Engineering and pursued a Masters in Manchester UK.
Once I was 24, my parents started searching for a groom to take care of their baby for the rest of her life like a princess.
After a long search, there was one guy whose horoscope matched mine in all aspects, but I never believed in it until I met Karthik, my soul mate who had many things I liked and in a few days I realized that he is the person who could keep me smiling for the rest of the years to come. Actually, I never wanted a Doctor to be my partner as I always wanted a man who can spend quality family time. I should admit that Karthi balances both his professional and personal life very well
We first spoke on Feb 22nd, 2013 and he was doing his masters in Delhi at that time. We had to manage a long distance relationship till May after which he came back to Coimbatore. Our marriage date was September 15th, so we had so much time together which has given me lots of memories to cherish.
We were engaged on July 10th and soon after that, the preparations for the big day started to roll. My wedding shopping included a saree for engagement for which I did not go far but selected a pretty one from Shree Devi Textiles, Crosscut road. The engagement saree cost around 55k. For the reception and wedding sarees, we went to the kingdom of silk sarees Kancheepuram and I found the ones that touched my heart in Babu Shah. The former cost 70k and the latter cost 45k. Then came the wedding jewellery shopping! We shopped most of my jewels from Kirtilal Kalidas and Suman Jewellery.
Antique jewels are in vogue now and I got mine for the wedding from The Big Shop, Ooty. All of these shops have got amazing collections that every girl would love to adorn! I have always loved mehendi just like any other girl! My mehendi function took place at our farm house, attended by my close cousins.I chose Metha mehendi located at Sai Baba colony as they have always decorated my hands with their beautiful mehendi during many functions. They are nominal and also have exclusive designs for bridal mehendi.
Our wedding was all set to happen in Codissia Trade Centre – Halls A and the first task was to decorate the hall and the stage in an elegant manner. Our decorator was an architect known to my father – Mr.Guhan, who took care of the decoration of both the hall and the stage. Our theme was based on Lord Murugar and peacock!
The catering section was given to Mr. Rangaraj of Lakshmi Catering Services. They did a great job in satisfying our guests with a variety of yummy vegetarian dishes. He took care of everything, right from snacks to desserts and made sure that our guests remember every bit of the sumptuous wedding treat! Photography and Videography was done by iTrendz Photography who gave their best shot at both wedding photography and videography. They have given us stunning photos that we will cherish for our lifetime and also an awesome 5 minute clip that portrays the gist of the whole wedding. http://youtu.be/Da_EamccBHQ
My makeup artist was Mr. Ibrahim from Chennai who did my makeup for both reception and wedding. He does the make up for a lot of celebrities and made me look like one. They were a group of 3 men (They did the makeup and hair styling) and a women (who tied my saree). My blouses were designed by Pebbles, a blouse boutique in R.S.Puram. I have known them recently as I got my engagement blouse done by them. It was too good and so I wanted them to work on all my wedding blouses.
Even my relatives and friends loved their work in all the blouses. I have a passion for guitar and started attending guitar classes from Mr. L. Ramesh (The Guitarist). He has his classes at his home in R.S.Puram. I always wanted his band to play for my reception and so we had a guitar concert by Wadinlara’s band which included cine songs and fusion music. He used various techniques in guitar and entertained the crowd.
Our destination for honeymoon was EUROPE just like everyone but one thing that was different from the typical honeymoon Europe trips was that our trip was whopping 30days! Chennai>Rome>Pisa>Venice>Innsbruck>Salzburg>Munich>Interlaken>Paris>Brussels>Amsterdam>London>Manchester>Chennai. We did not opt for the regular group packages available at Thomas cook. We chose the individual tour and planned it our way.
We told them the places we wanted to visit, the number of days we need to stay and the Hotels we wanted to stay. We used Eurail to go from one place to another. The trip was well organized by Thomas cook and well taken care and executed by my husband.
