Bride of the month – September!
It’s already October and I know that there has been a delay in featuring this month’s bride. On the personal front, I am a new mom and am relishing every moment of it! Of course, this brings its share of responsibilities and hence the delay! Happy to feature a spirited friend of mine, Radumitha from Erode, as the bride of this month! Despite the fact that she got married a fortnight back, she was sweet enough to spend some time with me to share her wedding planning. Due to short notice, I am unable to share her candid pics, which I will add later on! Let’s hear it from her!
Hi I am Radumitha. My wedding got fixed in March and hence I had ample time to plan for it. Having seen umpteen occasions where things went hay ware without planning, I chose to meticulously plan things right from the beginning. I got engaged on September 14th which was followed by other customs like Muhurtha Kaal, Reception and Enaicheer and the wedding on 15th.
The fun part of the wedding was of course the wedding shopping. I purchased most of my sarees from the famous silk saree store, Babu Shah at Kanchipuram. The reception saree was from Mahaveers, Coimbatore, popular for its trendy and unique designs. I was quite choosy and had particular colours in mind for every function and hence the saree shopping was hassle free. The diamond jewellery was from Tara jewellery, Coimbatore and the custom made gold jewellery were from Priya jewels, Erode and The Big Shop, Ooty.
DECORATIONS: My husband and I were very particular about the backdrop, hall decoration even the garlands. Hence we unanimously decided to go ahead with Sarah Petals, Erode. Being an upcoming decorator, their sincerity and hard work proved its worth when our guests were all in praise of the beautiful decors. Being dad’s friend made things all the more easier as they came home, showed samples and even customised designs according to our specifications and taste.CATERING: Food is one thing that impresses the guests and our choice was the upcoming caterers, Kitchen King, Erode, whose personal touch and mouth-watering dishes pleased the guests, though of course,
I must say that we did not have enough time to taste every dish. TAILOR: My blouses were designed by Rhythms, Erode. They took care of all the designs and made sure each of them was unique. I stitch my clothes with them regularly and hence it was easy to connect with them and make them understand what I wanted.
MAKEUP: A bride’s success is all about looking good on her D Day. I preferred to look traditional and hence went in for makeup and hairdo from Angels Parlour, Erode. Having seen their work during a friend’s wedding, I booked them for my wedding. I must say that I am extremely contented with their work. They were patient enough and even offered trial makeup and facials to make sure that I felt comfortable and also check for side effects as my skin is sensitive.
PHOTOGRAPHER: The photography is the most cherished part of any wedding. After seeing the work at 2 of my friends’ weddings, our choice was @vivahhika#. It was arranged as a package that included candid photography, videography and also cinematic highlights.
Their quote was quite reasonable compared to a lot others. The entire team took sincere efforts and stayed patiently till the last guest was captured in the best of our memories.
