When ‘Love’ walks in, it brings in what you just wanted and little bit more, just the way you wanted. Arpitha and Shiva have found that in each other. In fact the decors at her wedding was exclusively her ideas put together by a professional of course. But wow! The grand look!
I am Arpitha from Hyderabad, India (Always!!). Currently settled in the US and working for an investment firm.
My husband Shiva and I met in Minneapolis for Memorial Day weekend in 2013. Post Minneapolis trip, we kept in touch through texts. Lot of long chats :) Didn't know back then that there would be something more to it. My mom visited me that summer and I never expected a little conversation between her and I, about a prospective groom would change my whole life.
Is he the one? Absolutely! Does he make me happier than I ever imagined I could be? Totally! Am I excited about this new chapter of marriage in my life? Hell yeahh!! :)
The next two years were like a whirlwind. Time passed like a flash and here we are. For us, it seemed like just yesterday we were introduced to each other. Who knew that two years after meeting at a vacation, we would be planning our own wedding! We had 6 months to plan our wedding.
Even before the dates were finalized I wanted Amar's team to shoot our wedding. @studio-a# shot all our wedding events. Excellent shots plus professionalism is what I love about their team.
We were in India for 6 weeks for our wedding. The first 2 weeks were dedicated to the Sangeeth-dance practice. Our wedding celebrations started off with a grand Sangeeth at the magnificent Fort Grand, Shamshabad.
An evening of food, spirits, music and dance to celebrate the union of families and close friends. Don't we all love dancing? Maha was our choreographer for the event.
Kanika from Design tuk tuk did the photo booth signs.
The Pellikoduku ceremony took place at Shiva's residence. His outfit was designed by his brother.
The traditional Pellikuthuru ceremony was at my residence, I wore a saree picked at Varamahalakshmi.
The same evening we had Mehendi at my place. My makeup and hair for both the events was by Shabana. She was super-efficient and quick. My mehendi artist was from Mr.Vikas' team (Inorbit Mall).
Our wedding took place at JRC convention center. My father, uncles and other family members made sure that right from the pallaquin on which I enter the mandap to the car in which I leave the venue were all of my choice and exactly like how I wanted.
It was definitely a fairy tale wedding. My wedding saree was from Radha Krishna, Hyderabad.
The decor was chosen by me and done by Mr.Sridhar. I was thrilled at how beautiful the decor turned out.
All my lehengas and blouses were done by my sister- Divya Reddy. She made me feel like a princess with all those beautiful outfits. I wouldn't have asked for a better outfit for any of the events.
Shiva's sangeeth and wedding outfits were by @studio-sagar-tenaliclothing#. Everyone complimented us for the lovely clothes, amazing color coordination and combination.
Edward Siro and his team did my makeup and hair for Sangeeth, Wedding and Reception.
All my jewelry was collected over the years by my mom. She made sure I had THE best!
Our reception took place at Cyber convention center - A night for cocktails, dinner and dancing. The wonderful decor was designed by my brother-in-law and done by Mr.Majid. Shiva's outfit was designed by both of us. We got it done in portfolio.
Our first pre-wedding shoot was 3 months prior to our wedding. It was our first couple shoot and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was shot by Ashley near the inner harbour, Baltimore. Our next shoot was 5 days before the D-day at Taramati Baradari and Golconda resorts, Hyderabad by Studio A.
For our honeymoon we went to Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur in India. It was a royal experience. Must visit! Once back in the US we took a cruise to Bahamas.
We're so excited to start this next chapter in our life and we are super happy we can share it with you all on Shopzters.
