Reshma from Flora Wedding Planners is always enthusiastic and so full of ideas! And she got an opportunity to plan the wedding of one of Coimbatore's leading stores Rangasamy Chettiar and Sons (my personal favourite too for we buy all our grocery from them!) But the challenge was to bring to life Lord Krishna's Brindavan in the wedding premises! A great organiser that she is, Reshma worked tirelessly to bring it to life and is extremely elated with the appreciation she received! Here , she talks about her experience in organising the wedding.
It was a great opportunity to work on a wedding in the Rangaswamy Chettiar and Sons family. Mr.Saravanan , the brother of the groom , is a good friend of mine. He introduced me to his father Mr.Balasundaram- a creative person with clear ideas on what he wants. Since he is a devout follower of Lord Krishna, the entire wedding was built around a Brindavan theme. We had very interesting conversations. As an ardent fan of Lord Krishna's beauty myself , I was doubly thrilled to work on this wedding. The wedding depicted Govardhana culture. We used jute as a symbolic representation of Karthi and Swapna- the groom and bride. They are both simple, humble and elegant.
Large Radha-Krishna paintings adorned the entrance. Guests were welcomed by flute- motifs hangings and banyan leaf motifs with the couples name at the entrance. I ensured that the backdrop I crafted was exquisite and matched the family's ideas.
The invitation cards were selected from Priyadharsini Cards Mr.Mohana Sundaram customised the cards in Brindavan theme and the response from everyone was truly gratifying. For catering, the family turned to G.R. Catering, Bangalore. The sweets and the welcome drinks like mango lassi were in keeping with the theme. Mr.Manoj of G.R. Catering also ensured that the wait staff was dressed to suit the theme and feel of Brindavan. The Vijayalakshmi's team from Pondicherry , gave us wonderful dance recitals set to devotional songs in the praise of Krishna. Needless to say, the audience was mesmerised. There was also an enthralling and well- received light music performance from Mr.Jaishankar.
The team from M.S. Videos worked tirelessly to ensure that not a single one of these memory- making moments was lost. They did a fantabulous job. In fact, the montage video was delivered just a week after the wedding. The wedding was a joyous occasion for me and it felt great to see happiness and smiles on everybody's faces. Small touches from Mr.Balasundaram, like bringing the family's own cow and calf to the wedding, made a big impact. We heard guests say that they felt like they had been blessed by Lord Krishna himself! This wedding has been a wonderful experience for my team, full of learning and inspiration. Mr.Saravanan has also been so generous with his praise for team Flora. I would just like to add one more thing: "Good things happen to good people." -Reshma Srijay Flora Wedding Planners.
